  • About Client: Our client provides electricity to retail customers in Texas and energy services to retail and wholesale customers in the United States.

Engagement Details:

  • Business Need: The client’s structuring of electricity deals for the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Retail business unit was a manual process. They wanted to bring full, web based, automation to the structuring and pricing system for complex energy deals.


  • Project Objectives: To streamline electricity deals to minimize risk involved in Commercial Retail business by taking a manual process and providing full automation (web based) for the structuring and pricing system for complex energy deals.


  • Solution Approach: : DISYS provided consultants with specialized skills from the Energy practice which had expertise in their field and similar environments.

DISYS consultants oversaw requirements, gathering, design, architecture and development of the project. The Structuring Valuation Tool (SVT) was developed to integrate with CRM, Costing, Load Forecasting, Valuation, and Billing systems. Our consultants provided the following services:

    • Design the GUI and logic for the structuring of electricity deals for Commercial & Industrial Retail business unit.
    • Gathering and administration of requirements from New Product, Marketing, Pricing, and Risk business users within Requisite Pro
    • Develop screen designs with the C&I Marketers with supporting Use Cases
    • Design and develop prototypes and functional components for Analytics.
    • Map application’s table values for Contracts produced in CRM
    • Provide Java-based application development to support complex energy deal structuring, pricing, quotation calculation, valuation of post deal components, forward curve calculations, and integration with energy supply hedging, billing, and accounting.
    • Design and develop rules based Pricing Engine.
    • Design and develop synchronous and asynchronous web services.
    • Design and develop an extensible domain model to model complex energy deals
    • Provide development for replacing a set of ad hoc customized, organically created applications
    • Integrate with upstream and downstream systems - CRM (Siebel), Load & Cost of Goods Sold (Loadstar/FRMS), Forward Price Curves (Sungard Epsilon), and Valuation & Hedging using WebServices and Database integration.
    • Supervise and mentor developers and provide technical leadership to the team.
