- About Client: The client is a global security company that is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems and products. The Company provides a range of management, engineering, technical, scientific, logistic and information services. It serves both domestic and international customers with products and services that have defense, civil and commercial applications, with its principal customers being agencies of the United States Headquartered in Bethesda, MD, they employ about 146,000 people worldwide and reported 2008 sales of $42.7 billion.
- Client Relationship Overview: DISYS has been providing consulting services to the client in support of their Information Systems and Global Services (IS&GS) business units since early 2007.
Engagement Details:
- Business Need: The client required support to assist the Defense Media Activity (DMA) in operation and maintenance of their office networks, including IT infrastructure and development. The Defense Media Activity (DMA) is a Department of Defense field activity under the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs (OASD-PA). The mission of the DMA is to conduct a joint service internal information communications program on behalf of the Secretary of Defense.
- Project Objectives: Support the client by providing technical expertise, specifically in the areas of helpdesk and systems administration, java development, systems analysis and network security.
- Solution Approach: DISYS provided consultants with Department of Defense secret clearances and the skill set necessary for the client to continue to support the Defense Media Activity (DMA). Because DISYS could offer consultants that already had the needed security clearance and skill sets, we were able to respond to the clients needs faster than any other firm. Our final approach was to move over clearable consultants that were already working for DISYS over to the client to reduce time to hire.
